Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG)

The JAG program is in its third year at Topeka West and the state of Kansas. JAG is a for-credit elective class which offers instruction on the JAG curriculum combined with student-led intra-curricular activities. Classroom instruction is based on a series of competencies consisting of skills that are relevant to life after high school:

  • a) Career Development

  • b) Job Attainment & Survival

  • c) Basic Academic Skills

  • d) Leadership and Self Development

  • e) Personal Skills

  • f) Life Survival Skills

  • g) Workplace Survival

  • h) Economic Empowerment

To support development of these competencies, all JAG students are members of the Career Association. Students will have opportunities to take on leadership roles working to plan the leadership, career exploration, service-learning, fund raising and social activities they implement during the year.
