Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code is a National Organization with a mission to close the gender gap in technology and change the image of what a software developer looks like and does. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka (FHLBank) sponsors local Girls Who Code clubs in Topeka for girls in middle school and high school. This year's high school program will be held at Topeka West during Club Days. Volunteer facilitators from FHLBank will partner with Ms. Fraker in room E611. Participants will get introduced to technology concepts such as website design, mobile app development, games and more. Basic computer coding fundamentals will be covered with a hands-on opportunity to apply them. Girls will work individually or in small groups in a safe, friendly environment with the opportunity to define and develop their own custom project. No previous computer experience is required. Bring your Chromebook and a great attitude.
